New Species or Not?

Recently, a rat, was found five times its size. It was located in the jungles of New Guinea. Scientists think that it is part some species in Papua Province, Indonesia. So, they went on a trip over there to investigate. Right now they are not sure whether its part of a whole other species or not. There have also been sighting of rare birds. I personaly think its mutated. To find out more fact about this topic go to:

Starfish dissection

One of the dissections I was really exited about was the starfish. This was because the starfish is a very interesting and exiting creature to learn about. Here are some of the things I learned. One thing was that their are some 2,000 species of starfish living in the ocean. Another thing I learned was that, the starfish has a anus on top of its body. The third thing I learned was that, they have tiny tube feet. Here are some things I found out by myself. The colors on a starfish help them camouflage. The second this was that, the characteristic of being able extending their stomach comes in handy for digesting. You can find more starfish facts like this at :

Frog Dissection

In November, 2007, I was was extemely scared to walk into the Science Classroom on the day of the frog dissection. This was because earlier in that week, I was distubed by some interesting facts. One of them was that frog are amphibians with a slimey coating. Something else I learned was that when certain types of frogs stand on top of leaves, trees, branches, and bushes, other animals cant see them. The third fact I learned was that frogs use eardrums instead of ears like we do. Something attracting I found out the night before the dissection was that when frogs swim, instead of swallowing water, they just absorb it into their skin. From the same link, I also found out that, a frog has a short life cycle because an average frog dies between the ages of 4-15. You can find more froggy facts like this at:

Galaxy Blasted By Black Hole

On Monday, December 17th, 2007, a very serious event happened in the history of astronomy. The fascinating discovery was that a galaxy was blasted by a blackhole. According to the US Space Agency, galaxies crashing together in the universe but there is still very little evidence on that. The Hubble Space telescope was lucky enough to even get a few picture of the scene. The event took place in a system that is 1.4 billion light years away from us. Hopefully it wont come near enough to attack Earth. "Although we call it a death star galaxy, it might eventually be a source of new life in the more distant galaxy", said by Martin Hardcastle in the University of Hertfordshire. I think this quote means that the black hole might be from a galaxy that actually has life.TO find out more facts about this topic go to:
